The process involves the following steps:

Step-1  

Education & Experience level

Education-related teaching activity in an educational or vocational training establishment or research centre, culture and tourism, technical, highly qualified practice in technology and innovation, or credible formal education is equal to a degree among those holding experience in a similar field.

Step-2  

Services or Employment Contract
FOR TEACHING ACTIVITY:

A contract of employment or services agreeable, including the teaching activity or Invitation letter from an educational or vocational training institution or research centre.

FOR HIGHLY QUALIFIED ACTIVITY:

They agree to an employment or services contract of at least one year, an annual remuneration of at least 1.5 times the national average yearly gross salary (1,752.52 euros per month), and designation on management or higher level. 

FOR CULTURE PROMOTER ACTIVITY:

Work or service contract agreeable with cultural activity (within the scope of a project recognized as of concern to the government in culture promotion). Declaration of the company or entity that carries out the cultural Activity.

FOR CERTIFIED COMPANIES*TECH VISA*-

Work or services contract with the term of responsibility area of technology and innovation declared by the certified company (tech visa).

Step-3  

The Social Security number of Portugal is one of the obligatory identification numbers that will be issued to pay and receive social benefits to or from the state.
